Lafayette woman recovering after a car hit her while gardening

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)—Correction: The incident happened Friday morning.

62-year-old Cathy Misner was gardening last Friday morning when a red Jeep Compass sped into her yard hitting her while she was bent over in her flower bed. The incident was caught on Misner’s Ring Doorbell camera. 


Misner’s family spoke with News 18. They said she is recovering with a broken leg. Her other leg suffered deep cuts and required stitches.

Lafayette Police said the driver is a white man between 50 and 60 years old. His car is red, 2001-2006 Jeep Compass. They are investigating this incident as a hit and run. 

LPD is asking anyone with information to call the department at 765-807-1200.
