GE Appliances in Louisville celebrates a major milestone

GE Appliances celebrated its five-year anniversary of being sold to the Haier Company.

GE Applicanes celebrated a significant milestone Thursday.Thursday marked five years since GE Appliances was sold to the Haier Company. To celebrate the milestone, the company renamed the appliance park loop to G.E.A. Way.GE Appliances president and CEO Kevin Nolan says renaming the street reflects the company’s principles and its 14,000 workers, especially during the pandemic.”We came together as employees, and we came together to make sure that we were serving customers better than anyone else could serve them,” said Kevin Nolan, GE president, and CEO. “It’s a testament to everybody. The people you see here were out on the assembly lines. We were working hand in hand with all the employees to make sure we were able to deliver.”During the pandemic, GE Appliances donated more than 10,000 face shields and 375,000 masks and gloves to health care facilities.GE is one of Louisville’s biggest employers, employing more than 7,000 people.
